Shekau, the Leader of Boko Haram Denies Being Killed

Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the notorious group, Boko Haram has debunked the speculation that he has died saying that he was still in charge. In an 8-minute audio recording addressed to ISIS group which Boko Haram had sometime ago pledged allegiance to, Shekau said he was still in command and mocked the recent statement by the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari that Boko Haram would be eliminated in three months.

Shekau's absence in video footages released by the terrorist group sparked the speculations that he might have been killed during one of the attacks by the military. There were pictures too that lent credence to his death.

This particular message that purportedly comes from Shekau being an audio instead of a video as usual is a good reason again to conclude that he might have been killed.

However, the voice claiming to be Shekau's said that he would only die on the Allah's appointed time.
