The oldest person in Britain celebrates 112 th birthday on Sunday. This is a woman who has lived through the two world wars, the sinking if the Titanic and the rule of five British monarchs. Gladys Hermiston-Hooper   inherited the title of the Britain’s oldest person this week at the heels of the death of the last living Victorian Ethel Lang, aged 114.
