The International Criminal Court (ICC) has initiated an inquest into the alleged threat by Rilwan Akiolu, the Oba of Lagos to drown the Igbo race living in Lagos in Lagos Lagoon if they fail to vote for All Progressive Congress (APC). In a letter dated April 21 2015, Dr. Josef Umunnakwe Onoh, the son of the former governor of Anambra state, C.C. Onoh vowed to drag the monarch to the world criminal court for the alleged statement which was largely considered as inciting genocide.  Dr. Onoh made his threat real in the letter and the ICC has acknowledged the receipt saying “This communication has been duly entered in the communications register of the office."
