More ISIS - Boko Haram Links Indicate Strong Relations with the Terrorist Groups

Many indicators are rearing their heads that Boko Haram insurgents in Nigeria has been maintaining a very strong link with the ISIS. Just yesterday, we reported that Bhari ordered probe into how a wanted redicalised cleric and a member of ISIS got visa to entering Nigeria before he was arrested by Lebanese authorities.

Today, two persons who are allegedly Nigerians have been arrested by Indian authorities when they were trying to cross into Pakistan to join ISIS.

The suspects, Imran Kabeer and Sani Jamiliu who live in New Delhi, came to India on student visas about a year ago. They are being currently detained by Punjab Police, India.

Towards ascertaining the veracity of the claim of the suspects as Nigerian citizens, the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ogbole Ahmedu-Ode, revealed that the Nigerian embassy officials had applied the Indian authorities to see the suspects to “ascertain their claim of Nigerian nationality.” 


“Our embassy in India has applied for consular access to see the boys so that we can ascertain their claim of Nigerian nationality,” he said.
