After Bill Cosby admitted having given women drugs and abused them, there were calls by Civil Society organisations that the comedian should be stripped of the Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded him by George W. Bush in 2002. Obama declined the request saying that it would amount to an unprecedented move. He however maintained that drugging man or woman and having sex with the person constituted rape and America and any other civilized society would not condone such.
