Gay Pride, Jerusalem Attack: Police Arrest the Suspect

Yishai Schlissel, an ultra-Orthodox Jew was arrested for stabbing six people in a parade at Gay Pride, Jerusalem. Police identified him as one who was imprisoned for stabbing 2 people in another parade in 2005. An eyewitness revealed how the assaillant emerged from the back, reached for the knife from a pocket in his coat, raised the knife above his head and began to stab. People then began to scamper for their lives. Meanwhile,two were already found on the ground bleeding. He continued before Police laid hands on him.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attack as "a most serious incident".
"In the state of Israel the individual's freedom of choice is one of basic values. We must ensure that in Israel, every man and woman lives in security in any way they choose. That's how we acted in the past and how we'll continue to act. I wish the wounded a speedy recovery," he said in a statement.
