The lucky ones that were liberated by the Soviet forces that graced the occasion warned the world against the repeat of the carnage. They generally condemned the crime.
To Ronald S Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress, the Jews are still persecuted in Europe!
"Jews are targeted in Europe once again because they are Jews...
"Once again young Jewish boys are afraid to wear yarmulkes [skullcaps] on the streets of Paris, Budapest, London and even Berlin," he said.
A giant canopy has been erected over the brick railway house where Jews were sorted between those that would be used for forced labour to those that were to be killed in the gas chamber, for the commemoration.
The occasion attracted survivors including Jews, Roma (Gypsies) and Russian prisoners; most of whom were children in 1945.
Candles were lit in honour of the victims. In Russia, Vladimir Putin, president of Russia and Berel Lazzar, the Russian Chief Rabbi performed the candle ritual too in the honour of the victims.

An international organization is a union of actors in the international arena, formed to perform specified functions and/or solve identified problems for the members and/or non members.
