Following the warning by South African Weather Service of an approaching cold front - which it says comes with "heavy rainfall, strong winds, and waves between 9m and 12m along the coastal areas of the Cape Peninsula," the City of Cape Town has issued a "high alert" to residents to keep calm and do everything possible to keep safe as the storm approaches on Tuesday night.
The City also advised residents to capture rainwater which could solve the need of flushing toilet, with container as the City might not know when to expect the next big rain.
Structures according to the City have been secured with additional sand and have been grounded with concrete blocks in an effort to prevent wind damage. It also assured residents that Disaster Risk Management is on its toe to help emergency situations.
