Erawan Shrine Bomb Attack Targeted Tourism and the Economy

The Erawan Shrine, Bangkok blast has been described as an attempt to harm tourism and the economy by Prawit Wongsuwan, Thai Defence Minister. The blast which exploded around 12.00 GMT Monday 17 August, 2015 killed 21 and injured 120 others. The blast mostly affected foreigners and many victims were yet to be claimed.

It is yet unclear who would target the shrine but "We will hunt them down," Reuters quoted  Mr. Wongsuwan as saying.
