At the heel of the Thursday’s
peace talk, fighting continues in Ukraine.
"In the Donbass, this
night was not a calm one. The enemy shelled positions of the 'anti-terrorist
operation' forces with the same intensity as before," a statement by the
military said.
The pro-Russian separatists
used rockets and artilleries against the government forces holding the town.
Over 5 civilians were killed
and several others injured according to a report.
Angela Markel of Germany
commenting on the peace deal said: "a glimmer of hope - no more, no
less".
Mrs Merkel warned: "We
hold open the possibility, if these new agreements are not implemented, that we
must take further measures."
This latest development
therefore suggests that such further measures as suggested by the German
Chancellor should be taken immediately.
