Friday the thirteenth is trending all over the world today, Friday, May 13, 2016.Every Friday the thirteenth is widely known as "an unlucky day." Thus, some people habour the fear of the number, thirteen (13) which is known as triskadekaiphobia.
Rooted in Greek "tris" means "three", "kai" means "and", "deka" means "10" and "phobos" meaning "fear" or "morbid fear."
Some said that the fear for the number, thirteen is also a reason for the fear of Friday the 13th, called paraskevidekatriaphobia ( a long word, I bet).
Other reasons for the fear of Friday the thirteenth in the lores are:
1. Jesus was crucified on Friday.
2. Dan Brown linked it to the mass killing of Knight Templars at the dawn on Friday, 13 October 1307
3. Legendary rapper Tupac was killed on Friday the 13th after leaving Mike Tyson's boxing match in Las Vegas.
4. A friend of mine told how he broke up with the love of his life on the date.
We have at least three Friday 13, every year.
